iPhone SDK to be released in February 2008!
Steve Jobs announced in a letter to the Apple community on the apple.com website that the iPhone SDK will be released in February of 2008. This SDK will allow developers to make safe and official 3rd party applications that will run on either the iPhone or iTouch. The iPhone not having an official SDK had been one of the harshest criticisms of Apple since the release of the iPhone.

I've used 3rd party applications with both Blackberry and Treos for a few years and while it does add some productivity to it..most of the time the apps just suck!
All and all, two thumbs up for Apple finally listening to the user base. Though why does it take until February?
